Pupils at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE and BTec results.

School staff and parents have today been celebrating with pupils at the school as they progress onto the next stage of their education or training.

Libby Cowen received fantastic results with two grade 9s in Combined Science, four grade 8s, two grade 7s, one grade 6, and a Level 2 Distinction* in Music. Libby plans to study A levels in English Literature, Theology, Philosophy & Ethics and Media Studies at Rochdale Sixth Form. Libby said:

“I am so pleased with my results – it is good to know that hard work pays off.”

Fellow pupil, Amaan-Ulla Rana achieved one grade 9, six grade 8s, one grade 7 a grade 5, and a Level 2 Distinction* in Creative iMedia. He is now looking ahead to studying Physics, Maths and Computer Science at Rochdale Sixth Form. On his fantastic grades, Amaan-Ulla said:

“I am looking forward to the future! I am grateful to my family and all the staff at Oulder Hill for their support over the years.”

Louis Norbury achieved 10 GCSEs including two grade 9s, two grade 8s, one grade 7, and a Level 2 Distinction* in Sports Studies. He will now go onto study Physics, Maths and Chemistry at Rochdale Sixth Form in September. Louis said:

“I am happy with my results and I am thankful to the teachers who have helped me during my time at Oulder Hill.”

Likhon Muhammad, Principal at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy, commented:

“Many congratulations to our pupils on their outstanding results. They have worked extremely hard, and I hope they are proud of their achievements as they progress to the next chapter of their lives.”

Despite the disruption to learning over the past few years, exams were marked and graded in the normal way this summer, as they would have been before the pandemic. This means that the lenient marking and grading from last summer has been removed and exam results nationally have fallen to pre-pandemic levels.
