Why study Digital Information Technology?

Due to the nature of the content studied across the units, this award prepares students for a career in the digital sector. Digital and technical fields include a wide range of careers such as App developer, IT project manager, E-learning developer, Network engineer etc.

How will I study Digital Information Technology?

You will be assessed through the completion of 3 components. The completed vocational qualification comprises of a combination of coursework and examination. Components 1 and 2 include 4 internally assessed units. Component 3 is an external exam. Pupils will learn the features, techniques and processes needed to create a successful interactive media product that can be sold to a client. As a result, our pupils will become responsible, competent, confident, and creative users of digital information technology, with the skills to solve problems, design, plan and create an interactive media product that will meet the requirements of a client’s brief. They will learn how to apply the academic principles they learn in the classroom to real-world scenarios in an exciting and engaging way.

What will I study at Key Stage 4?

Studying for a BTEC Technical Award in Digital Information Technology will allow you to draw on a range of disciplines, such as project planning, project management, data interpretation, data presentation and data protection. You will learn about a range of contemporary Health and Social Care issues. Each topic varies, introducing new and interesting concepts.
